Coming 2026

Your music, in your own words.

CoTune is a music journal for iPhone. Rate what you hear, write down your thoughts, and turn each song into a moment.

01 / Why it exists

Music gives back what it gets.

Music has never been more available, or less heard. It plays constantly, in the background of everything, and rarely gets the chance to connect with anyone.

02 / How it works

CoTune makes intentional listening effortless.

It listens with you

Nothing comes between you and the song

Whatever you’re playing on Spotify or Apple Music is already on screen, so there’s no need to search. What would have gone into finding it goes into listening instead.

It changes the listening

A song you’re about to rate gets heard differently

You catch the second verse, the line you usually miss, the thing that makes it yours. That happens before you’ve written a single word.

It gives back

Every entry is a moment you can return to

A rating and what you thought at the time, kept for as long as you want it. CoTune resurfaces things on its own too, so the music that mattered doesn’t get buried.

03 / A note from the founder

CoTune started with a spreadsheet. A few years ago I listened to a different album every day and logged all 365 of them: genre, favorite track, and a rating out of ten. It made me listen to every album more closely than I would have otherwise, so I ended up appreciating the music more. Just as importantly, it left me with an expansive library reflective of my own taste, which I still go back to today when I’m looking for something to listen to.

I’m building an improved version of that same concept in CoTune. The goal is simple: to restore the connection between people and music in the streaming age.

If it sounds like something you’d use, drop your email and I’ll let you know when it’s ready.
